My favorite movie: Sprite

Toru is your typical college student who has to stay with some relatives while his mother recovers from an illness. As luck would have it, Toru gets to share a roof (and probably more) and go to school with a lovely young lady named Manami. Manami is pretty, sexy, but extremely shy. Some of the girls in school are jealous of her, and take advantage of her good nature by bullying her. But when Manami is pushed too far, another personality surfaces in the form of Nami. Nami is everything that Manami is not. She’s strong, feisty, and anything but shy. As Manami and Nami continue to co-exist in one body, it gets increasingly hard to maintain a balance… can the two personalities reconcile or must one be permanently lost? But Toru likes both Manami and Nami…
My honest review
Amusing and slightly humorous, Sprite is basically the story of Manami — a young woman with two personalities. As Manami, she is as gentle and defenseless as a newborn baby… which leads jealous classmates to bully her. As Nami, however, she is about as adept as Street Fighter’s Chun-li in literally kicking the asses of her antagonists. A flabbergasted Toru witnesses the whole transformation, and soon Manami’s personality problem becomes his problem as well. To further complicate things, Toru develops a liking for both Manami and Nami. Amidst everything that unfolds, a question lurks in the back of my mind. Are Toru and Manami related? After all, Toru is staying with relatives… and Manami happens to be the daughter in the household. But having seen Urara’s greater-than-cousin love for Touma in “Sakura Diaries” and Akira’s romantic obsession with his sister in “Countdown Akira”, the fact that Toru and Manami may be distantly related is really no big deal. I wonder nonetheless. Sprite’s plot isn’t anything extraordinary, but Nami’s outstanding characterization makes it all worthwhile. She’s tough but lovable, fierce but funny, and naughty but nice — which is quite a tricky combination to pull off. Any comedy that ensues is mostly thanks to Nami, and she keeps things moving along nicely. I daresay Manami would be better off just assimilating the Nami personality completely, as she comes close to being totally inept without Nami. The art and animation are pretty good. Manami is exceptionally pretty, and the other characters are drawn quite well. Sex-wise, there is a lot of nudity and a few sexual scenes but most of what you’ll see are breasts and silhouettes which imply certain acts. Nothing too graphic, but I should mention that there’s a significant number of panty shots as well. Overall, Sprite is above average. It’s admittedly more fun than a lot of other Hentai titles, but it didn’t really blow me away. “Weather Report Girl” is funnier, and “Countdown Akira” handles the psychological aspect better.
